connection lost after uninstall

Postby spyros » Tue May 08, 2012 10:40 pm

Hello, I am having serious problems trying to uninstall Windows 7 Firewall Control (5.0.0.15 for winXP).
Upon uninstalling it I completely "lost" my internet connection (ADSL via Ethernet cable). It also corrupted Avast AV.
I did a system restore and everything came back to normal.
This time, I set W7FC to "Enable all" mode and dissallowed it from running on system startup. After reboot, everything OK.
Then tried again to uninstall it and once more I lost Internet connection, while 2 of avast's real time shields were completely corrupted.
Needless to say, system restore is what saved me again.

So, the question is: How do I get rid of it, without any problems this time?
Thank you.

Quick Reply (to myself?): Uninstalling in Safe Mode with "Advanced Uninstaller PRO 10" and cleaning the registry with "jv16 PowerTools 2012" seems to have brought everything back to normal!

All the versions can be uninstalled via Start/Programs/Windows7FirewallControl/uninstall.
The XP version uninstaller requires reboot as the last uninstalling stage.
Missing the reboot causes the network filtering left in unpredictable state.
After the reboot all W7FC traces are removed completely.

We have no information regarding the mentioned tools.
MyComputer/RightClick/Manage/DeviceManager (with show hidden)/Windows7FirewallControl/Uninstall (with following reboot) removes the filtering principally. The similar operation is done by the uninstaller automatically.
