W8FC notifications always freeze

Postby krapahuteur » Sat Apr 18, 2015 7:29 pm

Hi,

notifications always freeze, I had the problem on my previous computer with the free version, on vista and 7, and now I have the problem with windows 8 and the paid version on a new computer, but the freeze is more more more longer... 4 or 5 minutes...

I haven't seen anything about this, someone had the same problem or I'm the only ? :p
If someone have a solution, it was very appreciate. :)

There were 2 known issues in connection with the problem.
- if you have listed applications located on remote computers (shares) and the shares are disconnected, the program may wait trying to relist/check the applications presence.
The related timeout depends on windows core solely and may be actually long.
If you have multiple remote applications listed the timeout is finally multiplied by the number of the remote entries.
- there was a related internal issue. The control panel runs many internal procedures concurrently.
The procedure synchronization is based on locking the programs/zones lists for an individual operation. The other procedures (if any), as the result, must wait for the lists availability.

So, please try to remove listing of the remote applications (if any), first.

Actually the both problems are fixed in the latest version.
Please read PM for the continuation.

I had this problem also with W8FC on Win8.1.

I do not have any apps which likes '\\ComputerName\ShareName\...\App.exe' in W8FC list.
My apps is located on D:, and I set the whole D: to a Share on LAN in order to copy my apps to other computers. Is this the causes?

I've installed W10FC just now, I'll see if this problem was gone :)

Hardly.

Please report. As the problem (after all the fixes) is not reproducible at our side, we are especially curious in the details.
Even if the problem exists and your computer specific we would like to investigate and and fix it.

It seems the freeze problem has totally gone, I've never encountered it again since W10FC installed last week. It works very good now!

We are happy to know the problem is gone on its own. Maybe it was just not the program related directly. Anyway, if you have a problem or a doubt please do not hesitate to contact us.
