VFC Free vs. VFC Plus

VFC Free vs. VFC Plus

Postby VistaFirewallControl » Tue May 26, 2009 9:03 am

Why do I need the Plus version?

The Free version does not protect system (formally located in c:\windows\*) applications.
VFC Free sets them all to EnableAll zone. VFC Plus can manage all the applications including system ones.

No, no, no, that really doesn't cover the comparison table at all.

Please explain all of it, at least Instant Blocked Traffic Notification. Do I get "allow/block?" prompts or not in the free version?

Any Windows7FirewallControl (W7FC) version shows the pop-up (application detection prompt) once for any unlisted application.
Any W7FC version allows changing the network permission settings any time for any listed application.
The blocked traffic notifications are only the messages shown in the right-bottom balloon accordingly to the blocks made by the firewall.
Although the Free version shows the notifications in the basic form as well, the Plus version makes the notifications extremely useful.
